How to contribute to Release Management

The focus of the DMC's release management effort is to provide quality releases of our technology to people interested in using our Model Development Kit and web platform.  This effort relies on people in our community with release management skills.  To learn more about how to join our release management effort, please see the information below.

Step-by-step guide

The following steps can be used to learn how to create an official release of our software and to become a community Release Manager.

Creating an official release

  1. Deploy our software stack on your infrastructure
  2. Package your deployment as a release
  3. Host your release on your infrastructure or talk to us about hosting options
  4. Subscribe to our Release Management channel (TBD – is this on the forums or on Slack?)
  5. Have your release pass our certification process
  6. Coordinate with us about linking to and announcing your release

Becoming a Release Manager

After you've gone through the process of creating an official release, we'd love it if you could share your knowledge and experience with other people trying to do the same thing.  Please reach out to Jim Barkley (by sending an email or finding him on the forums).  After that discussion, the next step is to sign our Participation Agreement and to announce your role as a Release Manager to the community.
